Introduction
It is a sad fact of life that, in order to help the many cats who need our care, we need money. It is a constant struggle, but with the help of our supporters, somehow we manage, although naturally, the more money we raise, the more cats we can help. Please consider helping us help the cats, using one or more of the methods below. For other ways to help, please see Other Ways to Help. 1. Membership We are always happy to welcome new members, who can be as active or as inactive as they like. The membership fee not only helps local cats, but also entitles you to four copies of our quarterly newsletter, The Catalyst (see below), which will keep you up to date with what we are doing and how you can help. Annual membership runs from 1st January, and the cost is as follows:
If you would like to join us, please contact us.
We are always happy to receive donations, of whatever size - every little helps. Please contact us if you would like to help.
You are now also able to donate to the branch via our PayPal account on MissionFish. Please simply click here and select the Donate Now tab. You can select one of the standard donation amounts or choose your own. Please do not forget to Gift Aid if you are eligible.
Donations do not only have to be financial - we always welcome unopened cat food, such as food which perhaps your own cat does not like. Prescription food is particularly welcome, because we do need this for some of the cats in our care, but it is expensive.
Please contact us for more information, or simply drop the food off at our shop at the Springfield Centre, Orchard Street, Kempston.
Empty Ink Cartridges or Old Mobile Phones
By donating your used ink cartridges and old mobile phones to Cats
Protection, you can help us recycle them and raise funds to help the cats
in our care. Please call our helpline on 08442 496911 or
email us to find out where you can send them or where your nearest
drop-off point is - or why not visit our charity shop at the Springfield
Centre, Orchard Street, Kempston where there is a collection box.
Unit 12 The Springfield Centre Orchard Street Kempston Bedford, MK42 7PR.
There are a number of ways in which you can support the shop, as follows:
We are always happy to hear from people who are able to help keep the shop running smoothly, whether it’s sorting and pricing goods or helping behind the till. If you can help, please e-mail us or contact the shop direct on 01234 840827.
We are always grateful to receive any saleable items you may have or make, such as books, ornaments, small items of furniture, crafts, bric-a-brac or unwanted presents. Collection can be arranged if necessary. Please note that for safety reasons we are unable to accept electrical equipment. Soft furnishings must have fire retardant labels and prams and buggies etc. need to have a kite mark.
Of course, you may prefer to support the shop by becoming a regular shopper. We stock Cats Protection catalogue goods, gifts, clothes, toys, houseware and much more, so why not pay us a visit? The shop is open Monday - Saturday 10.00 a.m. – 3.30 p.m. and there is plenty of free parking. We also have Members Evenings on the first of every month at the shop.
Unfortunately during the school holidays we are often unable to keep the shop open for its full opening hours due to a shortage of shop volunteers who can help during this time.
Sell your unwanted goods on eBay and raise funds for us!
eBay for Charity allows you to list an item on eBay and donate 10-100% of your final sale price to us - it's that easy.
To sell an item now and help the Branch, please click here.
If you are running in any road races (or even in the London Marathon), and would like to run on our behalf, please contact us.
Postage Stamps Sadly, we have decided we will not be able to continue with the collections of used postage stamps as we have found it is not financially viable. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has so kindly supported us by collecting stamps to help raise funds for the cats in our care.
